Boston University School of Public Health Hosted the AUA School of Public Health Annual Faculty Workshop

The AUA School of Public Health held its annual Faculty Workshop on Saturday November 2, 2013.  Dean Robert E. Meenan of the Boston University (BU) School of Public Health hosted the workshop at BU.  Dr. Aram Chobanian, President Emeritus of Boston University and Dean Emeritus and Provost of BU School of Medicine was instrumental in organizing the workshop and participated in our faculty discussions.  He expressed his admiration for the efforts of AUA in Armenia and its accomplishments.  In addition, AUA President Bruce Boghosian was in attendance and joined in our deliberations along with bringing greetings from AUA.

The AUA School of Public Health was well represented with faculty from various parts of the US who had come to Boston to attend the Annual Meeting of the American Public Health Association.  In fact the last photo acknowledges the leaders of the MPH program since its inception in 1995.

The faculty discussions covered all aspects of the MPH program and the Center for Health Services Research.  This included strategic planning for the development and growth of the SPH and also expansion of research efforts to improve the health of the population.  Everyone felt very energized
and quite positive about the ongoing success of the MPH program and the AUA School of Public Health.  This was clearly one of the high points in our joint endeavors together in moving public health forward in Armenia and the region.

The all-day meeting concluded with a festive dinner at a local ethnic restaurant.
