YEREVAN, Armenia — On November 27, second-year students of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program of the American University of Armenia’s (AUA) Turpanjian College of Health Sciences (CHS) delivered poster presentations describing their internship experiences in various public health organizations. This was the eleventh poster session organized for MPH students. CHS Associate Professor Dr. Tsovinar Harutyunyan coordinates the internship program.

Students in this MPH class completed internships at the HENAR Foundation, the Jinishian Memorial Foundation, ClinChoice, the Hematology and Oncology Center after Professor R. Yeolyan, ARMED E-Health operator, MOM Center, Wigmore Clinic, and the Avedisian Onanian Center for Health Services Research and Development at CHS AUA.

The posters were reviewed by CHS faculty and researchers, representatives of the aforementioned internship organizations, MPH and Bachelor of Science in Nursing program students and alumni, as well as other guests. Attendees voted for the best poster at the conclusion of the student presentations. Byuregh Keuchkarian received the highest number of votes in this round. Additionally, the scientific committee, comprising CHS faculty, selected Anita Kokobelyan’s poster. Dr. Harutyunyan presented certificates and small gifts to the winners.

The Public Health Internship program aims to provide students with an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the classroom to real-world public health projects, while also allowing them to work directly with public health professionals.

“We have collaborated with some of this year’s internship organizations for many years, while others are new to the program. We are actively working on maintaining and expanding the list of the internship sites to provide our students with the opportunity to contribute to diverse public health research and practice projects. We are very thankful to all internship preceptors for supervising our students and supporting them throughout their internship work,” remarked Dr. Harutyunyan.

All posters are available for viewing in the MPH Poster Book.

The AUA Turpanjian College of Health Sciences works actively to improve population health and health services in Armenia and the region through interdisciplinary education and development of health professionals to be leaders in public health, nursing, health services research and evaluation, and health care delivery and management.
