Funding Agency: UNICEF

The backsliding in immunizations and the current measles outbreak in Armenia necessitates a National Immunization Social and Behavioral Change Strategy to create demand for and increase uptake of vaccinations in the country. CHS developing this plan guided by theory essential to the encouragement of social and behavioral change and provided strategic direction and guided action to the Ministry of Health, National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and key stakeholders to increase vaccine uptake across the life course. In order to inform the team as well as the plan, a desk review will first be conducted to assess the current immunization situation in Armenia, including vaccination rates and coverage gaps, as well as the systems in place that provide vaccinations, both for routine childhood immunizations as well as those received across the life course. The CHS finalized the Strategy text and provided to Ministry of Health, National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and UNICEF.
