‘Entrepreneurs in Health’ Project Helps Expand Medical Services in Kotayk and Tavush

With professional and financial assistance from the Turpanjian Entrepreneurs in Heath (EIH) program, newly equipped medical centers opened their doors in Jrvezh, Kotayk region, and Noyemberyan, Tavush region, offering quality health services to the public.

Dr. Sona Grigoryan, founder of the family medicine clinic “Yunctura” LLC in Jrvezh, Kotayk, and Dr. Arevhat Yaralyan, founder of the family medicine clinic “Arevhat and Ani” LLC in Noyemberyan, Tavush, are beneficiaries of the EIH program. This program was launched within the scope of the Turpanjian Rural Development Program (TRDP) of the American University of Armenia (AUA) and aims at improving access to quality healthcare services in rural communities and regional small towns of Armenia, Artsakh and Javakhk.

Dr. Grigoryan and Dr. Yaralyan run independent family medicine practices in their respective rural towns. With the growing need for additional medical services to be accessible locally, Dr. Grigoryan and Dr. Yaralyan enrolled in and successfully completed the EIH training courses in entrepreneurship and improvement in quality of care. As an integral part of the EIH program, they developed their respective business and quality assurance plans, which were presented to and approved by the EIH executive committee. Subsequently, Dr. Grigoryan and Dr. Yaralyan moved on to expanding the scope of services offered by their respective clinics with laboratory and instrumental diagnostic services, such as biochemical and immunological laboratory and ultrasonography services.

Community members, colleagues, EIH beneficiaries, EIH and TRDP program representatives, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia attended the opening of expanded clinics.

The EIH program will continue to support Dr. Grigoryan and Dr. Yaralyan in running their medical centers offering them professional advice in healthcare management, quality assurance, financial management, and other relevant consulting.
