The CHSR, in collaboration with the World Health Organization and RA Ministry of Health
(MOH), conducted a study to determine the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies and
prevalence and risk factors for hepatitis B and C among the population of Armenia. The primary
objective of the study was to estimate the sero-prevalence of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2
and assess the population’s knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP) regarding infectious
diseases transmission, manifestation, and treatment in general among adults in Armenia.
Other objectives of the study were:
 To estimate the prevalence of past or present HBV and HCV infection and the prevalence
of chronic HBV and HCV infection among adults in Armenia.
 To estimate the seroprevalence of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 by geographical
region, clinical presentation (asymptomatic, mild disease, severe disease), age and sex,
smoking status and comorbidities.
 To evaluate the level of self-reported compliance with the recommended protective
measures in the context of COVID-19 pandemic among the study population and test its
association with the seroprevalence of antibodies.
 To assess risk factors for HBV and HCV infections among adults in Armenia.
The CHSR team are working on several manuscripts based on the mentioned data.
