The CHSR, in collaboration with the World Health Organization and RA Ministry of Health
(MOH), conducted a study to determine the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies and
prevalence and risk factors for hepatitis B and C among the population of Armenia. The primary
objective of the study was to estimate the sero-prevalence of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2
and assess the population’s knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP) regarding infectious
diseases transmission, manifestation, and treatment in general among adults in Armenia.
Other objectives of the study were:
To estimate the prevalence of past or present HBV and HCV infection and the prevalence
of chronic HBV and HCV infection among adults in Armenia.
To estimate the seroprevalence of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 by geographical
region, clinical presentation (asymptomatic, mild disease, severe disease), age and sex,
smoking status and comorbidities.
To evaluate the level of self-reported compliance with the recommended protective
measures in the context of COVID-19 pandemic among the study population and test its
association with the seroprevalence of antibodies.
To assess risk factors for HBV and HCV infections among adults in Armenia.
The CHSR team are working on several manuscripts based on the mentioned data.
