The Zvart Avedisian Onanian Center for Health Services Research and Development (CHSR) is a direct extension of the Turpanjian College of Health Sciences educational program, providing services to the professional public health community while offering training and employment opportunities for our students and graduates. With support from the Zvart Onanian endowment and the increasing volume of projects, the CHSR has grown from project-to-project subsistence to a large core staff supplemented by a cadre of experienced health professionals.
The CHSR has a reputation for quality, integrity, and professionalism that has allowed it to blossom into a regionally recognized leader and resource for health services research, health services evaluation, and health development activities. The CHSR has successfully run many projects and received grants from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, World Health Organization, US National Institutes of Health Fogarty International Center, USAID, UNICEF, Grand Challenges Canada, and many others. It successfully partnered with Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, Emory University, University of Pennsylvania, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and other academic institutions.
