Assessment of Population Knowledge, Perceptions, and Attitudes in Relation to Micronutrient Deficiencies and Fortified Foods and Development of an Audience-centered Communication Strategy (UNICEF)

Based on qualitative research findings from focus group discussions, this report analyzed the current knowledge, perceptions and attitudes among the general population, health providers and millers about micronutrient deficiencies and provided directions for the best communication channels and messages for social marketing campaigns for flour fortification.  Overall, 58 persons in nine focus group discussions from Yerevan, Gegharkunik and Lori marzes participated in the study.  The CHSR team presented the findings to the representatives from Ministries of Health, Agriculture, and Finance; UNICEF and other UN agencies.
